# Cookie policy

## What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website saves on your device to remember your preferences or measure how the site is used. Similar technologies like local storage do the same job.

## What we use on this site

- **Strictly necessary.** A single entry in your browser's local storage (`analytics-consent-v1`) remembers whether you accepted or declined Google Analytics, so the banner does not pop up on every page.
- **Website analytics (optional).** Google Analytics 4 loads only after you accept analytics cookies. It measures page visits, referral sources, campaign tags, scroll depth, sections viewed and opening the WhatsApp widget, plus contact-link clicks and newsletter signup outcomes. The `_ga` and `_ga_*` cookies distinguish browsers and sessions; we configure a 90-day cookie lifetime. We do not send your email address, WhatsApp message, form contents, URL search terms or health information you enter. Advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled. See [how Google uses information from sites that use its services](https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
- **Advertising measurement (optional).** On the coaching funnel at coaching.eatwithruwi.com, the Meta Pixel is activated only if you accept optional cookies. It records page visits and whether an enquiry form or call booking is completed, so I can measure and improve Facebook and Instagram advertising. Meta may use identifiers such as cookies, device information and IP address under its own privacy terms.
- **Third party.** Pages that embed Instagram, WhatsApp links or Trustpilot may load resources from those services, which can set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.

## Your choices

When you first visit the site you can accept or decline non-essential cookies in the banner at the bottom of the page. Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your analytics choice at any time. Declining stops further measurement and removes our Google Analytics cookies. You can also clear the `analytics-consent-v1` entry from your browser's local storage, or by clearing site data for https://www.eatwithruwi.com in your browser settings. Most browsers also let you block cookies entirely.
